Adapter Table

Use this table as a reference to explore common adapter options for popular camera types. Only required for DSLR camera users, not required if using smartphone.

  • Cannon

    ---

    Common Port Types:

    2.5mm TRS

    N3 Terminal

    ---

Canon cameras generally use a 2.5mm TRS port, but some models use the larger N3 terminal. Adapters from N3 to 2.5mm TRS are widely available.

  • Sony

    ---

    Common Port Types:

    RM-S1AM

    Micro-USB

The adapters shown are not guaranteed by SyncUV to be compatible with your specific camera. While we do our best to verify compatibility, variations in camera models and adapter wiring may affect performance. All adapter images are sourced from JJC Photography Equipment Co., Ltd. and are shown for reference only — not as purchase endorsements.

Common FaQs

Can the SyncUV Hub trigger both a phone and a camera at the same time?

Yes, the Hub can trigger both a phone or tablet (via Bluetooth) and a DSLR camera (via the TRS output) at the same time. This is perfect for capturing your print from multiple angles simultaneously.

Should I be concerned about shutter wear when taking lots of timelapse images?

Yes, most camera shutters have a rated life of 50,000 - 100,000 actuations. Since resin prints can have thousands of layers, that can add up quickly and significantly impact your shutter’s lifespan. To reduce wear, we recommend the following:

1. Use the SyncUV Hub to adjust the Layer Interval. This lets you skip layers during capture, reducing both shutter use and the number images to process.

2. Enable electronic shutter mode if your camera supports - most mirrorless cameras include this option in the settings.

What if my camera doesn't have the 2.5mm TRS port?

While the 2.5mm TRS port is the most common type of shutter release port, not all cameras have it. There are many off-the-shelf adapters which can be used for Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, and other cameras. See our Adapter Table section for specifics.

Why don't you sell adapters?

There are countless variations of camera brands, models, and adapter wiring standards. Because of this, it would be impractical for us to source, test, and stock every type.

Instead, we’ve provided detailed information on the most common port types in our Adapter Table so customers can easily choose and purchase the adapter that fits their specific camera.

Additionally, since the Hub works seamlessly with smartphones, most users find their phone’s camera more than capable of taking high-resolution images for an HD timelapse.

Is it safe to run my resin printer with the lid off?

Yes, but precautions should be taken when printing with the lid off.

The most important is ensuring proper ventilation to avoid prolonged exposure to resin fumes. Additionally, keep the area free from any ambient sunlight or other UV light sources, as they can prematurely cure the resin in the vat and ruin your print.

Does the SyncUV Hub work with ResinLapse or DIY phototransistor cables?

Yes, the SyncUV Hub works with ResinLapse and any sensor cable that electrically shorts Tip to Sleeve on the TRS cable.

Will the SyncUV Hub work with iPads or iPods?

Yes, the Hub will work with any device that can connect over Bluetooth and has a camera. Phones, tablets, iPads, iPods, etc can all be used.

I’ve taken all the photos — how do I turn them into a timelapse?

There are two main ways to create a timelapse, and we cover both in detail in our Post-Processing Video.

For most users, we recommend using your computer and a free editing software, such as iMovie (for Mac users) or Clipchamp (for Window users) — this gives you a free and simple platform to render a timelapse.

If you prefer to stay on your phone or tablet, there are free apps that can render timelapses directly without needing to transfer files to a computer.

Is international shipping available?

Not currently. We are working to expand to international markets such as the EU, Canada, and Australia.
